The Rural Alberta Advantage
Someone told me,”This could be your ‘I saw them in a small bar once’ story“, and with that prompting I ended up at The Royal in Nelson last night and discovered for myself why folks are buzzing that Toronto’s The Rural Alberta Advantage is a band on the brink of exploding.
With a raucous driving drummer that I imagine is the envy of bands across the country, a quirky little lady on keys & backing vocals, and a lead singer straight from rural Alberta (Fort McMurray) who somehow takes simple small-town Canada singer-songwriter songs and makes them into rad & rockin’ sonic sounds that turn a crowd wild … it’s hard not to become an instant fan of the RAA too.

Just watched their “Stamp” video on Rolling Stone – you’re right, great band. Needless to say, your cracking images of them capture the “small bar” moments! Looks like a great evening. Nice one J.
