The Crooked Brothers

The Crooked Brothers play fucking good music. And yes, it’s really good enough that it warrants the expletive. They play the kind of music that brings to mind my favorite photo of my Grandfather, which I think says a lot (click here to see said photo).

If you have to genre-fie them you might say they play timeless country, back-porch blues, and stomping scrapyard funk … but that’s really only the beginning. Clanging railway irons, three-part harmonies, seamless instrument swapping, Matt Foster’s rough & reverberating honey growl … these boys are just as at home making a boot-stompin’ bar-room dance party as they are singing dark odes to death, lost love, & loneliness.
