Nine Mile and the Junkyard Drumkit

On January 25, Toronto’s Nine Mile kicked off their duo tour (that will eventually see them performing in Hawaii, the lucky dogs!) with another fantastic show at Whole Wheat n’ Honey Cafe.

The packed cafe was treated to some marvelously unusual stories and sounds – from D’Ari’s limitless stories of Cambodian shit pigs and how he managed to evade a false drug trafficking charge, to Dave Tolley’s audience-created junkyard drumkit, it was one of those memorable “you had to be there” shows.

Dave Tolley behind his makeshift junkyard drumkit.  The night before the show he put out a call for people to help him construct a different sort of drumkit for the evening … only Dave Tolley could make a traffic cone, watering can, guitar, saw blade, bong, and box sound like percussive genius!

The Nine Mile Duo Tour becomes a Trio Tour with Dave, D’Ari, and the Junkyard Drumkit.

Nine Mile Photoshoot: Behind the Scenes

Thanks to Peter Mozola for letting me tag along and do a little lurking behind the scenes as he did a photoshoot with D’Ari Pouyat and Dave Tolley – two of the boys from the band Nine Mile.
