Gig numero nine of the CMEAS UK Spring Tour at Crow’s in Lancaster on May 14, 2010.
This is also synonymous with the Night of Sombreros and the day the mod punk Barons of boogaloo – The Convulsions – came out to play with Miss Quincy and RedGap.

CMEAS (Chicago Music Explosion Artist Services) UK Spring Tour 2010.

The Convulsions – Ben Ruth (vocals, harmonica, organ), John Huck (drums), Joe Cutler (bass), and Jason Wilkinson (guitar, keys).

Miss Quincy’s lonely and discarded hat watches on as she plays.

Miss Quincy, the perpetual thief. This time the thieved musician is Jo Cutler (bass) from The Convulsions.

Gig numero five of the CMEAS UK Spring Tour at one of the most cracking pubs we’ve visited thus far – The Bell in historic Bath on May 10, 2010.

The Isle of Man’s soul leviathan – RedGap.

Hannah Layhe – RedGap’s percussive machine.

Ben Ruth – CMEAS tour manager & possibly the maddest harpface in all of England.

If Ben is the maddest harpface in all of England than Miss Quincy is certainly the cutest.

Miss Quincy.

Miss Quincy & Hannah (from RedGap) get down & dirty.

Barry Nelson – RedGap’s master of acoustics.

Cubby (Adam Cubbon) – RedGap’s electrification.

Jo Earner – the smokin’ hot lead voice of RedGap.

Gig numero four of the CMEAS UK Spring Tour at The Coopers Arms in Pewsey. on May 9, 2010.
The Coopers Arms and Pewsey have joined the ranks of the Rolla Pub in my list of absolutely fantasmic pubs, towns, and people. For anyone who “Rolla” does not ring a bell too, it’s one of my favorite places in the galaxy, and for Coopers Arms to remind me of it means it must be a pretty special place indeed.
This is precisely why my photo selection from Coopers Arms is so meagre – I was awfully busy drinking cider & beer and being merry with the Pewsey folks. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for video footage of Pewsey’s legendary rugby dance troupe.

Miss Quincy the role model – recovering from a Saturday night at the Patriots Motorcycle Club in Wales as little girls frolick about for a christening at the Coopers Arms.

JP Squared – busking & beering in front of a Ghostbusters truck.

RedGap with Cubby on the Couch.

RedGap’s box.

Miss Quincy.

Hannah from RedGap.

Ben Ruth, CMEAS tour manager extraordinaire, joins RedGap for a mad crazy harp solo.

As you avid perusers of my photoblog may know, I have recently hopped in the mini-bus of the 2010 Chicago Music Explosion (CMEAS) UK Spring Tour as official tour photographer.
This year the musicians roving about the UK are the Isle of Man’s RedGap and Canada’s own Miss Quincy.
Here are a smattering of photos from gig numero uno of the tour on May 6 at The White Hart in Atworth.

The Madame of Backporch Brothel Blues herself – Miss Quincy.

Miss Quincy, are you being a diva to Mister Tour Manager!?

RedGap – Barry Nelson (acoustic guitar) , Adam Cubbon (electric guitar), Hannah Layhe (percussion), Joanna Earner (lead vocals), and Val Nelson (bass).

Ben Ruth – CMEAS tour manager turned impromptu harmonica soloist.

Ben takes care of harp and sound at the same time.
