Perhaps Best Canadian Live Music Photos of 2011 isn’t as accurate a title as It’s New Year’s Eve’s Eve and I’m Slightly Under The Influence of Homemade Pear Hooch and I Photographed a Whole Hell of a lot of Music This Year and I Want To Share My Favourites.

My month long music photo hiatus was broken last night when Scott Cook and Jesse Dee & Jacquie B rolled into Nelson for a house concert in support of the release of Scott’s brand spankin’ new album Moonlit Rambles.

Last night I attended one of the finest house concerts I’ve ever been to. Edmonton’s Scott Cook is a world-travelling singer/songwriter who has the voice of a lonesome rambler and the pen of a master storyteller. In addition to possibly being one of the nicest men in the galaxy, he has the power to make an audience laugh, cry, think, and become his back-up choir all in one show. Lucky for all of you it seems like he’s perpetually on tour (he’s currently making his escape from the cold, cold Canadian winter in favour of a Southern USA tour), so check out his tour dates on his website and go see him next time he’s in your neighborhood.

Once upon an August eve some fine fellows named Scott Cook and Brian MacMillan played some fine tunes at the Rolla Pub (featuring Dave Tolley on percussion & Scott Galloway on keys).
I took some photos and promptly left them in limbo on my camera until today, some two-odd months later, when I was reminded of them by Facebook telling me Scott Cook is soon playing a house concert at The Gallowranch (see proprietor of said Gallowranch in photos below).

Here are just a few of the folks who put the music into the inaugural Music on the Mountain festival in Fort St. James, BC (August 27-29, 2010). To see some general views from the mountain click here.
