I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra is one of my favorite gangs of gents, both on & off stage. They play the kind of infectious hard dancing music that I’m sure has forced many a crowd member into bed for days of post-show recovery.
Photos below are from TMO’s recent show at The Media Club in Vancouver, BC on their Migration East Tour.

Perhaps Best Canadian Live Music Photos of 2011 isn’t as accurate a title as It’s New Year’s Eve’s Eve and I’m Slightly Under The Influence of Homemade Pear Hooch and I Photographed a Whole Hell of a lot of Music This Year and I Want To Share My Favourites.

It’s Saturday night and around me hundreds of people are visiting & laughing & drinking & dancing and I could just as easily be in the Wells Community Hall during ArtsWells as in Vancouver’s Rickshaw Theatre for Ambiguous Arts’ one night ArtsWells fund-raising extravaganza.
ArtsWells is one of the greatest festivals in the galaxy and if you haven’t already been make sure to get yourself there one of these years!!

The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra is one of my favorite gangs of musical gents and I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who hasn’t been infected by their gypsy goulash after seeing them live. I happen to know TMO is on tour in Western Canada for the month of January and if you decide not to go see them you deserve to have your frontal lobe probed and dancing feet amputated.
The photos below are from the New Year’s Eve Masquerade at The Royal in Nelson, BC. To see photos of the evening’s masqueraders click here. To see photos of MythMaker’s mythological New Year’s circus click here.
