Trout Forest Music Festival: Or, Fredstival

A few excerpts from the Trout Forest Music Festival in Ear Falls, ON … Or, as we like to call it, Fredstival (after Fred Penner, who was without a doubt the highlight of the weekend).

Miss Quincy & The Showdown at the Trout Forest tavern.

Although Miss Quincy & The Showdown may have mean reputations, nothing can reduce them to a gaggle of giggling 6 year old girls faster than hanging out with Fred Penner for the weekend.

Poor Choices Christmas card shot with Andrew Neville.

Ross Roeck, King of Hospitality & Master of Midnight Pulled Pork.

Jonathan Byrd and Corin Raymond, 2 of this continent’s greatest songwriters, rehearse for their set.

Shari grows a horn (or drinks a viking festival goblet beer).

Corin Raymond @ Rolla Pub

It’s not often you get to see one of your all-time favorite musicians perform at one of your all-time favorite pubs.  The musician in question is Toronto’s Corin Raymond and the pub in question is the Rolla Pub in the teeny tiny Northern farming hamlet of Rolla, BC.  If you ever find yourself in Toronto on a Thursday night make sure you stop by the Cameron House to see Corin.  If you ever find yourself near Rolla on any night make sure you stop by to see the historic gem for yourself.

Check out Corin’s music and the folkloric tale of The Great Canadian Tire Caper here: www.dontspendithoney.com

An old photo of the Rolla Pub dear to me both because it was one of the first photos I ever printed in the darkroom and the original sign is no longer.

Corin backed up by Brin Porter & Travis Charuk (The Party on High Street).

Patti (right), the Rolla Pub’s proprietress extraordinaire, and her daughter Sara.

Miss Quincy Fort St. John CD Release Show @ North Peace Cultural Centre

Although the fun killers at the liquor control board forced our rooftop cocktail soiree into the backstage basement bowels of the North Peace Cultural Centre, Miss Quincy & The Showdown‘s Like The Devil Does album release bash was still one hell of a show.

The ol’ pre-show transformation to stage hot.

Shari & Miss Quincy either admiring each others’ face painting handiwork or just about to make-out.

Toronto’s Corin Raymond opens the show.

The audience gets up close and personal with the band by being seated right on stage instead of way up in the theatre seats.
