Neighbour
If you ever have a strange hankering to push your ol’ camera to the very edge of it’s limits until it’s wheezing like a fat man on stairs I highly suggest shooting live music … or even more, a live DJ set. “Oh look camera dear, here’s a giant crowd of folks flailing about unpredictably in light so dim it practically doesn’t exist, and where it does, it exists in short bursts that change colour and intensity like an erratic chameleon”.
And speaking of live DJ sets, the photos below are from Neighbour’s show at The Royal in Nelson on November 11. Neighbour is a hybrid spinster who plays live synthesizer and electric guitar alongside his DJ sets.
